The Puez-Odle, established in 1978, is bordered on the north by the Passo delle Erbe and south of the Gardena Pass, east of the park extends to the Val Badia (Longiaru, ANTERMOIA), west to the valleys of Funes and Gardena . The northern part is dominated by the complex of Aferer Geisler, Funes and Sas from Putia, the southern part of the highlands Gherdenacia, Sassongher, the Group Puez with Vallunga, and the Group Cir. The park was expanded in 1999 and has an area of 10,722 hectares, distributed in the municipalities of Alta Badia, Corvara, Funes, San Martino in Badia, Ortisei, Santa Cristina and Selva Val Gardena. For eccezionedi Funes all municipalities are clearly Ladin origin, or S. Cristina / Santa crest, Selva, Badia and Corvara, to the south and San Martino in Badia / San Martin de Tor, to the east. This park can almost be considered an open book of the Dolomites; geologists, in fact, you can see all kinds of rock, tectonic upheavals and erosion most characteristic. Also from the point of view of landscape there is a great variability; deserts, limestone plateaus, fertile pastures bizarrely jagged peaks, imposing cliffs, deep gorges carved out by erosion and dense coniferous forests are a kaleidoscope of landscapes and forms rarely found in an area so limited. The nature park is part of the European ecological network Natura 2000, whose goal is the protection of natural habitats as well as the related plant and animal species. The normative basis for the implementation of this project are the Habitats Directive (92/43 / EEC) and the Birds Directive 2009/147 / EC (in the past 79/409 / EEC). In accordance with Article 6, paragraph 1 of the Habitats Directive Member States shall determine, for each area Natura 2000 conservation measures necessary. For this purpose, in Alto Adige have been developed specific management plans.

San Candido (IPA sankandido :/ / , Innichen in German inicn IPA :/ / ) is an Italian town of 3,175 inhabitants of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano , in the Alta Pusteria . It is also a common mercato.San Candido is located near the seat of Dobbiaco , beyond the Alpine watershed , as it crossed the Drava river , a tributary of the Danube. And the nearby San Candido Sesto are therefore among the few Italian municipalities not belonging to the Italian geographical region because they belong to the catchment area of the Danube. The territory of San Candido is the last bit ( to the west ) dell'harpfe diffusion , a characteristic of the grain dryer consists of two upright posts connected by horizontal poles . The village of San Candido, Alta Pusteria religious center , has developed around the monastery founded by Duke Tassilo III of Bavaria in 769 and built during the reign of the bishop of Freising Arbeo to counter the Slavs , then still pagan . For centuries the dependence on the ecclesiastical point of view was the diocese of Freising ( San Corbiniano ) , the oldest of Bavaria. The old links with Freising led in 2007 to establish a twinning between the two towns. Around the middle of the fourteenth century, the attempt to make the country a shopping center on the way to the Cadore and Carinthia was opposed by the Counts of Gorizia , who did not want that arose on economic rivalries with nearby Lienz . San Candido was so especially a religious center , gravitating around the Collegiate Church , which over the centuries has attracted thousands of pilgrims. The historic center is therefore characterized by numerous places of worship , as well as stately homes of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. In the division , in 1918 , of Tyrol between Austria and Italy , San Candido would theoretically have to stay Austria , lying beyond the Alpine watershed but for military reasons was attributed to Italy and there were built two large barracks and the Cantor the Druze , the first still the responsibility of the 6th Alpini Regiment . The presence of the border in the village of Prato alla Drava also determined the presence of a large group of Italian officials . San Candido has been for years the terminus of the railway line that went from Fortress, while the six miles of line to the border , they were managed by the Austrian railways . As long as there has been a strict customs inspection , it was characterized by the presence of trains corridor that linked Lienz in East Tyrol , with Innsbruck.

Along the route, cyclists will encounter the original stations, tunnels and bridges that cross deep, shady gorges. After leaving the famous valley of Cortina, the trail follows the course of the small river Boite southwards until it reaches San Vito di Cadore. After Borca di Cadore, the stream plunges into the valley below while the cycle path stays at the same level and passes over the sunny slopes of the picturesque towns and villages of Vodo, Venas, Valle and Tai. Pieve di Cadore includes the house that was the birthplace of the famous Renaissance painter Tiziano Vecellio, as well as numerous buildings of historical interest and two museums, one devoted to the history of the Magnificent Community of Cadore and another that focuses on the history of the production of spectacles. The Val Pusteria valley or Pusteria ( Pustertal in German, val de Puster in Ladino) is a valley in the Eastern Alps about 100 km long , located between South Tyrol and East Tyrol , in the east-west direction between Bressanone and Lienz.Geograficamente val Pusteria is located in the west of Philo Periadriatic , which separates the southern Limestone Alps from the central ones (and even most of the alpine limestone and slate gneiss from the peaks of the central section ) . Half of the valley runs to the west in the Adriatic basin (through the Isarco and then the Adige ) and the other half goes down to the Black Sea basin (via the Danube) . The watershed is located in the valley , at the crossing of the Sella di Dobbiaco . The Rienza flows in the Western Pusteria (also known as Green Valley ), while in the eastern part (also called Alta Pusteria / Hochpustertal ) , divided between Italy and Austria, the Drava flows . The political boundaries of the Val Pusteria , however, do not coincide with the geographical ones , the state border , in fact, after the end of World War I in 1918 , is not placed on the line of watershed or watershed (saddle Dobbiaco ) , but for reasons strictly military was established 6 kilometers further east, at a lower level , precisely in Prato alla Drava . The val Pusteria is so politically divided between two states: Italy and Austria. To the east of the Val Pusteria Sillian Periadriatic leaves the line ( which passes through the Gail ) and is geared towards the north- east approaching the Austrian town of Lienz . The city Pustertal are located at an altitude of between 750 and 1,180 meters above sea level. Trentino Alto Adige is situated in the very north of Italy bordering Austria and Switzerland and is the best known for the beauty of its peaks. Its territory stretches from the Adamello-Brenta range and the peaks of Ortles and Cevedale to the most striking mountains in Europe: the Dolomites of the Fassa Valley, Brenta, Gardena Valley, Fiemme Valley and Pale di San Martino. This setting encloses an extraordinary variety of landscapes: magnificent snow-capped mountain tops, woods, wide valleys, streams, lakes, enchanting light play between the spires of the Dolomites, typical villages with soaring bell towers, and the myriad shades of truly unspoilt nature. Hundreds of kilometres of ski slopes make this region a cutting-edge tourist destination - Madonna di Campiglio, Canazei, Moena, San Martino di Castrozza are the best known resorts, popular in both winter and summer for holidays surrounded by nature, sport and fun. The landscape of Lake Garda is particularly picturesque; the lake narrows in Trentino, and looks like a fiord between the high mountains. Land of confluence and meeting point between Latin and Nordic worlds, Trentino Alto Adige is the guardian of a remarkable cultural heritage, made up of prehistoric evidence, charming castles, sanctuaries and towns of great historical and artistic significance. There are a number of spa towns offering treatments and therapies, of which Merano, Lèvico Terme, Peio, Rabbi and Comano Terme are the best known. The provinces of the region are Bolzano and Trento.
