Your visit to us very welcome, is a calm interlude in hurried and impersonal universe of the internet. A unique opportunity to learn about the history of an ancient mountain village became famous around the world for the value of his art and for its gentle climate, the lush vegetation of its Park and the temptations of his table. For a breath from Euro and air, a relaxing break, a moment of culture or even just out of curiosity, welcome to Carpegna, fertile land of a thousand pleasures. These include his inimitable ham, the only son of a maternal nature. Carpegna ham can be sliced with different techniques, depending on your taste. A hand with a knife, narrow, long and sharp along the muscle fibers of the meat to get a bigger share of the chewing cutting machine allows you to enjoy instead of thinner slices. It 'always advisable slicing the ham shortly before consuming it and protect it then with paper feed, to avoid that the air and the light will dry the surface, damaging it. Very important when cutting is not to eliminate the fat that, during aging, gives smoothness and softness to the entire thigh. With bone or boneless ham Carpegna is ready to be sliced at the first opportunity.

The Castle of the Counts Guidi (framed within the Eco del Casentino, in the tem of Civilization Castellana) is a monument of Poppi which is located in Republic Square 1. The first track in the chronicles of the castle, built in the Middle Ages, dates back to 1191. the building has been renovated since 1274 by the will of Count Simone Guidi and his son Guido. The castle was the scene of a historic event: June 11, 1289, in front of the monument, there was the battle of Campaldino. Uncertain authorship of the building: the oldest part is not uniquely attributed to Lapo di Cambio, while the more recent, dating from the late thirteenth century, it would be of Arnolfo di Cambio. Inside the building, which for years has hosted the headquarters of the municipal administration of the town in the province of Arezzo, you can see a chapel, a museum on the Battle of Campaldino, a library and documentation center Giovanni Gualberto Miniati.Sulla once the nave of the chapel adjoining the castle is one of the most important fresco cycles of the province of Arezzo. Almost entirely frescoed are also its walls: to report on the three cycles Stories of St. John the Baptist, St. John the Evangelist and the life of Mary, in addition to the figures of saints placed beneath these. In a niche located below a window there is an altarpiece painted trompe-l'oeil, and on each of the four corners of the ceiling are painted the Evangelists on the throne, whose authorship was attributed to Taddeo Gaddi, a pupil of Giotto, after the restoration carried out between 1988 and 1990.

It is located atop a hill 621 meters above sea level. It is placed in position over the Casentino and the town of Pratovecchio. The name of Romania or Ormena is a word of Etruscan origin. In the area of the castle were found during various excavations, fragments of vases and various tools for home use. The castle currently appears in the role given to it thanks to the restoration promoted by Count Octavian Flamini. Are still standing the keep, three towers and the three surrounding walls. The entrance to the castle is done by so-called north door and door Gioiosa Kiss. The formwork is accessed by a tower with drawbridge and moat, and once inside you can endorse the two nuclei of the structure: the so-called house of the Podesta, residential palace of the Guidi of Romena where inside is placed a reconstruction in the castle stairs as it appeared in the thirteenth century, and the tower, the tallest and most protected; there are also a cistern to collect rainwater and an underground tunnel that led outside. The defensive walls are still corbels, who have the task of holding up the walkway in wood, the result of the work of nineteenth-century restoration. Among the keep and the third surviving tower is the large space of the parade ground, where in 1901 pitched his tent Gabriele d'Annunzio. The last of the towers is the so-called Tower of Prisons. Subsequently passed in inheritance to Ferdinand Panciatichi Ximenes who redesigned it between 1853 and 1889. In the course of 1878 also hosted the King of Italy Umberto I. After the war it was used as a luxury hotel, while at present, despite the sale to 'auction of 1999 and some urgent restoration work, has been abandoned. In April 2012, however, has been the Committee FPXA 1813-2013 (FPXA stands for Ferdinando Panciatichi Ximenes of Aragon) which has among its aims to promote and enhance the castle Sammezzano. The park, one of the largest of Tuscany, was built in the mid-nineteenth century by Ferdinand Panciatichi, exploiting agricultural land around his property and a grove of oaks (a ragnaia). We had planted a large amount of exotic tree species, like redwoods and other resinous American, while the furniture was made of architectural elements in the Moorish style as a bridge, an artificial cave (with a statue of Venus), pools, fountains and other creations decorative tiles. Only a small part of the nineteenth century plants is known to us: already in 1890 of 134 botanical species planted several decades ago, it had survived only 37. Only recently has begun to put in some of the dwelling species lost in a project restoration that enhances the original botanical wealth: there are now examples of araucaria, sequoia, thuja, yew, cypress, pine, fir, palm, yucca, oak, maple, cedar, cedar of Lebanon, hackberry, ash, juniper, acacia, lime and many plants of interest floriculturale. The park is the largest group of giant sequoias in Italy, with as many as 57 adult specimens, all over 35 meters.

Tuscany is located in central Italy and stretches from the Apennines to the Tyrrhenian Sea. Its landscape, artistic heritage and important cities, first of all Florence, make Tuscany an unquestioned protagonist of world tourism. In this region, nature has many different facets, starting from the coast that alternates long and sandy beaches, like the Versilia beach, with rocky cliffs and steep headlands. The islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, a crystal-clear sea and rich seabeds, are peerless. You can admire sceneries of uncontaminated nature in the Apuane Alps and in several protected areas, like Orbetello lagoon, which houses many species of migrant birds, including pink egrets. However, the most typical sceneries of the region are those that merge the beauty of nature with the millenary work of man. The amazing Gulf of Baratti and the sites of Vetulonia, Vulci and Pitigliano guard necropolis and vestiges of the Etruscan civilization, while Roselle and Cosa evoke memories of the Roman Age. Medieval villages, historical towns, castles and defence tems, rural churches (the so-called 'pievi') and beautiful abbeys, like the one of Sant'Antimo, are scattered all over the territory and their profiles stand out in the landscapes of the Crete Senesi, Orcia Valley, Garfagnana, Chianti and the Maremma. Finally, Tuscany is full of spas: Montecatini, Saturnia, Montepulciano, Monsummano and Bagno Vignoni, which offer relaxing holidays thanks to their thermal waters and well-equipped facilities for all types of treatment. The provinces of the region are: Florence (regional capital), Arezzo, Grosseto, Livorno, Lucca, Massa Carrara, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato and Siena.
