Sirolo : the jewel of the Riviera del Conero Gorgeous medieval village between the green of the mountain and the blue sea , is considered the pearl of the Adriatic , a valuable treasure chest of art set in a breathtaking landscape. On the territory of Ancona, inhabited since prehistoric times , spread from the ninth to the third century BC the Picene ( interesting ruins at the archaeological site The Pines ) , which is followed by Roman rule. At 560 A.D. probably dates back to the etymology of the name of the city, from Sirius , leader in the wake of Belisarius , which is attributed to this teritory after the victory over the Goths . In the Middle Ages , to defend against the incursions of the barbarians and pirates , Sirolo acquires its identity as a fortress , with a trellis tem of roads , alleys and towers. Fief of the Counts Cortesi (XI cent.) , Noble origin of the Franco- Germanic , is sold in Ancona in 1225 and the same Cortesi already in 1038 donated to the Benedictine abbey at the top of the mountain, now the Church of St Peter and the surrounding soil. Impregnable castle later became the property of the Papal States , under the domination of which are founded the churches of St. Nicholas and Delrosario . Notable three villas , all private and can only be visited from outside. The inhabitants ( approximately 3,200 ) , respectful custodians of the traditions and values of their natural and historical territory , from time welcome the tourists with a number of valuable initiatives , including the seasons of the two theaters : the historical Cortesi and the atmospheric air theater ' open At the Cave . Symbol of the country is the sea bass , a fish that inhabit the clear waters . wild , rugged cliffs , caves, white rocks covered with pine forests that overlook on transparent and deep waters , Sirolo make it the ideal destination for those in search of unspoiled nature . The country , sunny and windy, placed between a sea full of fish and rolling hills planted with wheat, vines and olives , green is protected on the north by the Conero promontory . Little is known of his Claudio al Chienti and the Romanesque churches of a Greek cross inscribed in the Marches, 2006. The church has numerous typological peculiarities . It presents a plan internally divided by four pillars to form a Greek cross inscribed in a square . There are semicircular apses along the perimeter : the hips and on the eastern side . The building also occurs on two levels with a lower and an upper church . Finally, the facade is flanked by two round towers . Generally, the particular structure with a central plan is referred to a Byzantine influence as well as the circular towers to the model of Ravenna. The Arch of Trajan, Ancona is certainly one of the most valuable monumental evidence of the Marches Rome. Elegant , was erected by the senate and people of Rome in 100-116 AD by the architect Apollodorus of Damascus Syrian turkish marble ( quarried on the island of Marmara ) in honor of the emperor who had made extend , at its own expense , the port city of improving the docks and fortifications . From here the same Trajan left for the victorious war against the Dacians , episode reported on the bas-reliefs of the column of the same name in Rome. On the top was, according to the long and steady tradition , the equestrian statue of Trajan. To the right of the statue of Trajan Plotina , his wife, to the left of the Ulpia Marciana , his sister. The inions , which is still read, and so were gilded bronze friezes and statues which are seized by the Saracens in 848. Behind the arc and the side of the Yards was built in about 950 , the high tower of Gamba, demolished to use the material in the construction of the Citadel ( 1532) . In 1859 was built the staircase , near the gates a few years . However, the work still maintains the momentum and the elegance of the past and has recently been restored , made fully operational with the elimination of the above gates, lighting and subjected to interventions that have enhanced the profile and enhanced the particular position compared to the historic core of the city and the Guasco hill where stands the Cathedral of Ancona. Honorary arch of this slender, smooth , evanescent , which is the best preserved of the many that exist, and the most elegant, can refer what Plutarch wrote of the Parthenon , which is that the time has not touched, but an aura of freshness breathes still around it, as if it had been instilled in him a life eternally flourishing , and a soul that never grows old .

The Basilica of the Annunciation of Montecosaro is a Romanesque parish church of the village of Montecosaro Scalo , in the province of Macerata . In ancient documents is almost always referred to as Santa Maria al Chienti and in the Middle Ages also known as Santa Maria to Footer Chienti because of the river that flows near Chienti . The church was built in its current configuration in 1125 as attested by two inions on the inside, but the cards of the famous Abbey of Farfa, on which depended the brothers who founded it , speak of this church since the year 936. It was part of a monastic complex , built on an existing construction as evidenced by the two bodies in a square that lie to the north and south of the great current building . The Benedictine monks of Farfa come here to reclaim the marshy plain , then potenziarono with a fence wall of protection for periodic flooding and Saracen raids coming from the river. Inside , over time, found shelter even small houses and shops , and so the complex became a trading center and home of the renowned trade fair on March 25 . The building has undergone several changes over the centuries , of which the most radical and significant is that of the twelfth century. We can imagine that at that time that we began this important rehash delivery with its existing large shapes. Other important works were carried out in the following centuries , and especially in the early fifteenth century, when it was painted the frescoes with scenes from the childhood of Jesus, on the whole dominates the imposing figure of Christ Pantocrator and hieratic , entered into a almond .

The arc Clementino Ancona is one of the evidences of the Doric period of Vanvitelli . It was built at the behest of Pope Clement XII , a true patron of Ancona , after the granting of the free port , commissioned the renowned architect to redesign the city's port. So it was that sprang up the Lazaretto and the new pier . The arc Clementino was the door of entrance into the city from the New Pier , and lies at the point where it joins the ancient Roman wharf . About this already stood from the first century A.D. the Arch of Trajan. From the aesthetic point of view are remarkable effects especially on the side facing the sea. In the initial design of the arch above the penthouse neoclassical supposed to be a statue of Pope Clement XII, but it was then placed in the square of the Pope by the will of Ancona , grateful to the pope who had given new impetus to the age-old vessel traffic . Because of the death of Vanvitelli bow remained incomplete , and thereafter the work was resumed by Pope Benedict XIV and was entrusted to the architect Filippo Marchionni , who also completed the new pier . The choice , which may seem strange , leaving the facade facing the city in a simple brick can be understood by recalling that the arch served as a port city , and that , therefore, its main facade was, as usual, to the outside.

The splendid City of Loreto, tucked inside the countryside of the Marche Region, owes its fame to the sanctuary where the Santa Casa della Vergine Maria (Shrine of the Holy House of the Virgin Mary) is preserved and venerated. It is a holy place defined by Pope John Paul II as 'the true Marian heart of Christianity.' The sanctuary has been one of the most important pilgrimage sites for the Catholic faith for centuries, having been visited by approximately 200 saints and beatified persons, as well as by numerous Popes. According to ancient tradition, and today substantiated by historical and archaeological research, the Santa Casa is the house from Nazareth where the Virgin Mary was born, educated, and where she received the Annunciation. The house was composed of one room in masonry, with three walls in stone placed so as to enclose a rock cavern. This cavern is worshipped by pilgrims who flock to Nazareth, that is to the Basilica of the Annunciation, while the three stone walls, as legend has it, were brought to Italy (first passing through Illyria) by crusaders expelled from Palestine in 1291. The walls arrived in Loreto in 1294. Not only, but documents and archaeological excavations have continued to reinforce the hypothesis that the walls of the Santa Casa were transported to Loreto by ship, an initiative undertaken by the Angeli Family, nobles who ruled over Epirus at the time. Indeed, one document dating back to 1294 (recently discovered), testifies that Niceforo Angeli, despot of Epirus, in offering his daughter Ithamar's hand in marriage to Philip of Taranto (son of the King of Naples, Charles II of Anjou), gave the Prince a dowry that included such treasures as the 'holy stones taken from the Home of our Lady the Virgin Mother of God.' In order to protect these humble stone walls, and to receive the ever-larger masses of pilgrims visiting the sacred relic, construction works on the magnificent Sanctuary of Loreto were begun in the mid-15th Century. Some of the most prized works here are the marble paneling of the Santa Casa's walls, commissioned by Julius II and realized on Bramante's design from 1507. It is considered one of the greatest sculptural masterpieces from the Renaissance.

Its complexity takes shape on the inside, where the location of the space is labyrinthine and at a superficial glance , even poorly designed . Its present structure is due to the will of Giovanni della Rovere, Lord of the city from 1474 to 1501 . He was the son of Federico da Montefeltro , Duke of Urbino, which he put at the disposal of the best architects of the time. The work was initially entrusted to Luciano Laurana , who designed the residential part of the fortress and drawbridge that connected Directly opposite the square. The work was then entrusted to Baccio Pontelli that surrounded the residential part with the real defensive structure , to form a quadrilateral whose corners are located at the four massive round towers , which are connected with each other and with the central body , as an organic tem of communication, vertical and horizontal . The apparent irregularity of the interior spaces and routes is thus a reality desired and sought by the same Pontelli , with the aim to create a sense of disorientation. The monument is therefore divided into two fortresses , one incorporated into another: the central body, intended to stately home surrounded by construction intended for military defense.

The church of Santa Maria della Piazza is located in Piazza Santa Maria in Ancona , in the ancient district of Porto. It was built between the eleventh and twelfth century, is a remarkable example of Romanesque style. It was built on an early Christian church of the fourth century, restored in the sixth , a part of the floor of the present church is made of glass to allow viewing of the early Christian mosaics below. The church of Santa Maria della Piazza was originally called St. Mary of the Reed , as it is located very close to the port , in the marshy area at that time , and subsequently took the name of Santa Maria del Mercato because in the square opposite took place precisely the market. In the churchyard was held for centuries the investiture ceremony of the mayor of the free town of Ancona. The building has a singular plant : the main body is a basilica plan with three naves and a trussed roof and on this main body is ed a transept of the same width of the three aisles , raised and covered in cruise. In the nave there is the apse . The portal, splayed arch is adorned by many bas-reliefs , the work of a Master Leonardo, who puts his signature on the inner frame to the right. It is probably the same stonemason who did the parapets of the chapel of the Crucifix of S. Ciriaco . The series of reliefs is very interesting for the symbolic meanings , all related to the vine that runs around the portal .

The shoreline of the town is bordered on the north by the mouth of the roller, stretching for about two kilometers to the south over the mouth of the river Potenza. The coast of Porto Recanati has a particular shape: the central band is made up of beaches tend to be rocky and steep sea with deep water only a few meters from the beach, unlike in neighboring Porto Potenza and Civitanova Marche. The phenomenon of coastal erosion is clearly present, especially during the storms of the winter months, and persists despite numerous attempts to protect the coastline of cliffs. The entire coastal stretch and especially its northern part has been, even in the course of 2013, severe damage to structures bathing fixed; erosion in many cases has even threatened the connecting infrastructure. The area is completely flat, and is located in the vicinity of Mount Conero. Porto Recanati, solar seaside town nestled at the foot of Mount Conero, for the beauty of its coastline has been likened to a living room overlooking the sea. In the central square of Porto Recanati is the medieval Castello Svevo, built as a defense against pirate attacks, took place within its walls the whole city life. In the large courtyard is housed in the arena named after the tenor Beniamino Gigli recanatese that during the summer it becomes the stage for a large book of cultural events. A short walk from the town center is an archaeological site with its many relics brought back to life the ancient Roman town of Potentia, a witness of the origins portorecanatesi as a Roman colony. Porto Recanati is also known for having welcomed the Holy House of the Virgin Mary during the offsets that would then flow in Loreto, in the area of Scossicci in memory of this event was built the Church of the vane. The Blue clear sea, the green of a pine forest that descends directly down to the beach, are the hallmarks of this coastal area which for years has earned the title of European Blue Flag for the quality and livability of its beaches. A wide promenade completely closed to traffic that is enclosed in a town center then made of colorful houses, narrow to each other and that recall the ancient vocation of fishing village of Porto Recanati.

Perched in a strategic position between the March of Ancona and the State of Urbino , the village of Corinth has its symbol in the massive walls remained virtually intact since the fifteenth century. It can cover the whole circle , 912 meters long , with an impressive guided walk . The doors , the ramparts, defense towers , battlements Ghibellines dovetail , the walkways mark the landscape of this rare example of a fortified city where to appear incongruous are the signs of modernity , such as cars or light strands . Perfect set of a movie swashbuckling , Corinth has its center in Piaggia a flight of one hundred steps towards which converge the red brick houses arranged in a herringbone pattern . The warp layout of the city includes numerous noble palaces and important civic and religious buildings . The artistic development of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries was mainly due to the presence of important personalities like the painter Claudio Ridolfi, who lived long and died at Corinth , and the organist Gaetano Antonio Callido , who left here two exceptional pipe organs , one of the which gave to his daughter, a cloistered nun in the rooms now occupied by the Municipal Art Gallery . Among the public buildings are to see the Town Hall , a fine example of neoclassical architecture with the long porch that opens onto Via del Corso , the former Augustinian Monastery , built in the second half of the eighteenth century and now used as a hotel , the Theatre Hall ( 1861-69 ) dedicated to Carlo Goldoni and the House of the fourteenth century , which houses the local tourist office and is the oldest in the village . The churches reveal the spirituality of the place , reinforced by long belonging to the Papal State . The Collegiate Church of St. Francis has ancient origins ( 1265 ) , it presents itself to us in the forms of seventeenth-century reconstruction and , even more, the eighteenth century , when the monastery was built ( 1749) and the new church was erected ( 1752-59 ) . The Shrine of St. Maria Goretti, with the former monastery now used as a hall costume and Municipal Library , includes features with the eighteenth-century medieval church of St. Nicholas . The interior is a fine example of late Baroque architecture and houses numerous works of art, including a large wooden choir that encloses a splendid organ Callido 1767. The Church of the Intercession , completed in 1640, was later demolished and reconstructed to be reopened for worship in 1779. Preserve the painting by Claudio Ridolfi, who had been placed on the altar before the day of the inauguration , January 6, 1641 . Callido another body is found in wooden choir above the front door Church of the Addolorata , consecrated in 1755. St. Peter's Square bell tower is all that remains of the church , which was demolished in 1870 because it was unsafe . In its place stands a large Himalayan cedar , planted , it seems, to ensure that there is an anti-clerical ricostruisse another religious building. Now back to the walls . The first impact of the visitor is the fifteenth-century tower of the Spur , 18 m high . and pentagonal shape , attributed to the Sienese architect Francesco di Giorgio Martini and restored several times. Between the towers , stand out even that of Skinner (where the walls reach 15 meters in height) , one of Mangano and that of Calcinaro , which take their name from that place profession who lived there .
