Situated in a splendid position in Friuli's Colli Orientali, the hills dotted with monasteries and castles, the Perusini estate is the ideal starting point for discovering the valleys separating Friuli from Austria and Slovenia, or else for just relaxing. Rafting or fishing in the Isonzo is just up the road in Slovenia, you can trek in the foothills of the Carnic or Julian Alps and ride around them, too, by mountain bike. Or else you can just laze by the Perusini estate's superb swimming-pool. Covered tennis-courts are available in the next-door village of Corno, while within a 10-km radius there is an excellent 18-hole golf course and riding stables. Nature lovers can discover the beauty of the natural park of Bosco Romagno, then there is the flora and fauna at the mouth of the Isonzo and in the lagoon of Marano, or else you can experience the wonderful nature of the Carso and the nearby Carnia, and Karnten mountain valleys. For those who prefer the seaside there is the choice between the rocky coast of Duino and the sandy beaches of Grado, while the historic cities of Udine, Trieste, Gorizia, Cividale and Aquileia offer shopping to satisfy all tastes. All the flats have been restored using local, natural materials wherever possible, fitted out with antique furniture and equipped with satellite television. The kitchens feature all mod cons and each flat has its own garden tables and sunbeds for enjoying life in the open. Halfway up San Biagio Hill is the 'al Postiglione' Restaurant, situated in a charming old farmhouse and offering enchanting views over the Corno valley, with a menu in perfect harmony with the surroundings; simple, genuine food based on seasonal produce and traditional Friuli cuisine.
