Love at first sight does exist: it can confirm the many travelers passing through this part in a hundred years from San Candido, Dolomites care center, head to the Kreuzberg, and suddenly they find the hotel Sun Paradise . It is a beautiful building erected at the end of the last century in the heart of the extraordinary Alpine scenery offered by the High Puster Valley. Originally the house was a farm estate, built in 1876 by Franz Ortner, the great-grandfather of the current owners. Providing for the development of tourism that the valley would have had thanks to the new railway Vienna - San Candido - Merano, Ortner transformed the complex calling him Gasthof zur Sonne - Hotel to the Sun. At the beginning of this century they were paid seven crowns for a one-night stay with breakfast, dinner and super. And advertising the hotel promised a summer vacation in a dust-free, quiet, idyllic, in the woods and meadows, in a newly renovated hotel, with electric light, excellent drinking water and running water on every floor, with a nice shady garden for guests, with verandas and lounges windows. Among the more comfort there were baths and even a dark room for amateurs. The tradition has continued so that in the golden book of the hotel we find evidence of assiduous attendance of Marshal Badoglio (who, among other things, he proposed the present name) and Alcide De Gasperi, who called him a paradise quiet . Nothing has changed since then regarding the peace and quiet of this house. Today is a four-star hotel, a place where even the occasional passer will return willingly. For each room, each one different from the other, it was desired to highlight the historical characteristics of the environment while taking into account the needs of a modern clientele. And in the beautiful four-poster beds are made of extremely pleasant dreams.
