hotel rialto hotel in venezia - veneto

Hotel Rialto takes its name from Rialto (high stream), the area of Venice slightly more elevated than the other, always the commercial heart of Venice. The bridge as we see now was built in the sixteenth century on 12,000 piles of wood; on top of the bridge there are two rows of shops, 24 in all. At the foot of the bridge on the left there is a building of the sixteenth century Palazzo dei Savi '(wise men concerned with the tithes). To the right is another beautiful building of the sixteenth century, in renaissance style: 'Palazzo dei Camerlenghi', the equivalent of the Treasury today.
