The Pro Loco of Gorra and Olle, is a 'voluntary association, cultural, apolitical, and non-profit. It carries on business within the municipality in order to enhance the folklore characteristics, traditional, and cultural treasury of history and social life of the country, with particular attention to the promotion of regional tourism. The activities promoted by the Pro Loco are intended to promote the popular traditions and the local cuisine but also new initiatives such as the publicity of its territorial reality, rich in history and culture, enhancing the environment and natural paths.
Finale Ligure has three nuclei (Finalborgo, Finalmarina, Finalpia) and six fractions (Calvisio, Gorra and Olle, Perti, St. Sebastian, Varigotti). Charming and full of stately buildings, Finalborgo (XIII century) is a medieval village surrounded by the fifteenth-century walls.
The walls conserve treasures such as the Collegiate Church of St. Blaise with the Gothic bell tower, the Cloisters of Santa Caterina that hosts the Civic Museum of Finale with the Paleolithic, the Governor's Palace and the portals in slate and stone of the entrance doors. All with the imprint of the Del Carretto family, lords of Finale for nearly a thousand years.
If you walk to Finalborgo, soon encountered a path that leads to Castel Giovanni, Castel locker and then to Perti, medieval village fortificato.Le current walls are the 1190, built around the central core and the existing tower, while the castle, expanded and remodeled in the mid-seventeenth century, it was used by the Spanish to control the road leading into Piedmont.
Even Gavone Castle, built between 1188 and 1200 with functions of defense and stately home, has been repeatedly extended and reinforced in the walls: destroyed in 1448, was rebuilt by John I and again destroyed by the Genoese in the first half of the eighteenth century.
